I am here to share with you my story as a first time mom, mainly focused on my breastfeeding journey. When I gave birth in 2021 and was struggling with breastfeeding, I searched the web in need of people’s stories who had similar experiences and I came across very limited African stories. It is then when I realised that we actually do not share our experiences with regards to breastfeeding and mostly because society expects us to just be natural at it.   

We go through a lot as first time moms and, because no one shares their stories then we think we are the only ones or even worse; that we are failures. So I am here to share my experience, with the hope that this will help someone open up with their story as well and help someone one day.
